Collections and resources

About the collection

The Monash South Africa Library opened in 2001 and consists primarily of a collection of books, multimedia, serials, and online resources. Student prescribed and recommended reading and digitised course materials are readily available to all students.

Recommended reading materials for courses being studied at undergraduate level are found in the Reserve collection. The Reserve collection includes print and digitised journals and articles.

Users will also find ready reference and factual information in the library's Reference collection.

In addition, the library provides access to thousands of electronic resources provided through Monash University Library's network in Australia and via the internet.

The library's strong emphasis on electronic resources and services offers students and staff the flexibility to access the library from wherever and whenever they wish.

Most material, including electronic resources, can be found in the library catalogue. Access conditions and loan periods vary according to the item's location which is displayed in the catalogue.
